As many of you know, I write articles about various things and submit them to a directory called ezinearticles.com.

I am an expert author there and have been submitting articles for a few years. Often an ezine or webmaster will pick up one of my articles to publish on their website. I think that is wonderful, but there are limits to everything. Recently a webmaster picked up one of my articles and totally destroyed it then placed it on his website/blog and claimed that I had written it. That is totally unacceptable and actually illegal since to download articles from ezinearticles.com you must agree not to change or edit the original article.

Here is the url of what he posted

http://shimanopedals.com/3276/bmx-pedals-brown/

I have already commented on his blog regarding his illegal and completely immoral destruction of the article. but here is the copy of what is or was on his blog when I went to check it out.

I have requested that he either fix the problem or delete the article altogether and will be reporting his illegal use of my articles to ezinearticles.com
I am not sure what can be done about this type of thing, but there should be something.
I am flattered whenever someone picks up one of my articles, and hope people continue to do just that. As long as you pick them up and use them as I have written them and don’t screw them up, I have no problem. When you totally ruin the article it upsets me. If you want to comment on my articles, I enjoy hearing what people have to say, even if we don’t exactly agree.

Sorry everyone, I did not realize that WordPress.com blogs were completely different from wordpress.org blogs and that WordPress.com blogs are pretty tight with functionality. they work fine as a way of staying in touch with family and friends and would probably be great for someone doing a family tree or something like that, but the WordPress.org blog can take plugins and you can customize it to fit your needs, with the wp.com blog you are stuck with what they allow and cannot use plugins or anything like that.

My first blog was a wp.org blog through 1and1.com my webshost. They do allow plugins but only the ones they provide with the 1and1 blog program, so again that pretty much limits the functionality of the blog. One small thing I wnated to do was that when I make a blog post it would automatically tell you on twitter, facebook, myspace, people string etc that I had made tyhe blog post and the title of the post. I even have purchased a program to do just that, a wp plugin, but I can’t use it with this blog or the former 1and1 blog.

I have downloaded the wp.org to my computer and will be uploading it in the next few days. upload it here and will add the linkls and such that are here back into that blog. you will still be able to see this blog at http://thebicyclenut.wordpress.com

but once the other is fully functional this one will no longer be updated.

I will be posting only to 2 blogs, this one and my fitness blog at www.bodymindgoalsnews.info

Have a great day

Do comeback to this site as I will be posting more and more about bicycles and cycling.

Here is the lineup for the upcoming shows for my blog talk radio show.

Friday Feb,19,2010 at 11:00 Eastren Time I will be talking with Fritz Fowler and Company about the recovery properties of evolve water. Evolve is a drink that tastes exactly like water and apparently hydrates as well or better than the other energy and recovery drinks but without the high amounts of sugar. Listen while Fritz and several well known athlete tell of their experience with evolve. Should be a great show.

Sunday 11:00 AM Eastern Time I will interview Jason Smallheer. Jason has had much adversity to overcome but has done it well. We could learn something from Jason and his comebacks. Someone told me once that a setback was just a setup for a comeback and Jason embodies that phrase. Jason fought with and beat Obesity dropping form 240 down to 160, then hit with a bad accident that could have left him paralyzed he came back and is now doing triathalons.  We tried before to get Jason on the show but some technical difficulaties kept that from happeneing so we will definitely get with him this weekend.

On TuesdayFebruary 23rd We will talk with Fred Nicklaus about Core training for Cyclists and something most of us never think about but a very important part of traing which is proper breathing. If you check back a couple posts in thsi blog tou will see where Fred has a sort of article on the word Can’t.

Tuesday March 3rd at 9:00AM we will be talking with Sam Bryant from Adidas eyewear about training and eye protection. Eye protection is also an extremely important thing for cyclists and Sam has lots of great information for us.

Don’t forget if you are in the Moultrie area or anywhere in South Georgia that Jim Soos and I have set up a bicycle repair and reconditioning shop inside Books & More on the Square in Moultrie, I have acouple of special offers that may be of interest. First if your bike needs a tune-up after sitting much of the winter bring it to the shop and I will do a full tune up and clean and lube the bike for 45.00, it will come back with all moving parts lubed and all painted parts cleaned and waxed.

Or if you just want it checked out I will do a complete check up for only a 25.00 diagnostic charge which goes toward the final bill if you allow me to do any needed repair. If you can pick up a Colquitt Shopper you can get a 10.00 off coupon on this.

If you haven’t got a bike and you want one of if you want some bike related goodies to cheer you up check out my website at http://www.cyclingsprint.com or drop by the shop at 25 1st Street SE in Moultrie Georgia. There are a lot more “Toys” on the website than in the shop, but we will be stocking many of the same items as we find room and see what is selling locally.

Subject: I Can’t

Jerry Goodwin, there are few combinations of words whose use should be banned from the English language. It matters not how big these words are or how small they are what matters is the power that they have to crush human initiative.High on that list is the following combination- “I CAN’T.”Quite possibly this seemingly harmless combination of words has done more to derail human achievement and creativity than any other combination of words in the English language.

The sad and frustrating part of this is the fact that I CAN’T in most cases is not true at all but is just a figment of the person’s imagination.

Case in point: A person decides to strive for a goal that in their mind is very important to them and would be meaningful in many ways.

After further thought the person decides I CAN’T.

It may have been that the person wanted to pursue a new job. It may have been that the person wanted to ask someone out on a first date. It may have been that the person wanted to take a class and learn something new and exciting.

The goals can be many and the ways to achieve these goals many  but one thing for sure, there is nothing that can put a halt to any progress more than the words I CAN’T.

Reason why is that I CAN’T creates a mindset of defeat and impossibility within the individual’s mind and spirit. I CAN’T crushes any possibility of forward momentum and achievement without even so much as giving it a try.

All of us have said I CAN’T at some time in our past. How about making it a point to never again say I CAN’T and substituting it with the words I WILL or I’ll TRY when it comes to achieving things that would really motivate and please you.

If improving your health and fitness quickly is something that you’ve wanted to do for some time then how about throwing out a quick I WILL and jumping on my Valentine’s Day offer of the 9 Minute Workout.

Get it here http://combatendurancetraining.com/9M/

Show yourself some real love this Valentine’s Day.

Hello Everyone,

When  was doing the show this morning at 10 I said I would post these from Hal Downing in Florida. This is wonderful what these people are doing.

ADAPTIVE CYCLING CENTER

Dennis Sutherlin and Rich Benton have opened the Family Cycling Center at the Winter Garden Station on the West Orange Trail.  Named “Adaptive Cycling,” the center provides rentals and sales of bicycles that allow family members with disabilities to ride.  The shop has tandems, recumbents and recumbent trikes.  Their focus is on “special needs” children who would otherwise never have the opportunity to ride a bike and will enable them to ride with their parents for recreation and therapy.  The shop also features high-quality Co-Motion and Trek bikes and can accommodate children as young as 3 years old.  Says Dennis:

One of our Techs called in due to the bad weather here in South Georgia tonight, so I am here until 6AM. Not bad though it is all OT and I can use the extra cash. With any luck I will be able to get a couple of articles completed for ezine articles and keep working toward that hundred articles in 100 days contest that Jeff Herring has sponsored.

It rained most of the day today and started snowing about 5PM. Our phlebotomists went out and threw snowballs at each other. that brought back some memories of growing up back in the Buckeye State. We lived up in Lima which is North of Dayton and South of Toledo on I-75 for those of you that don’t know that territory. It is pretty flat there and we had some really big snowball fights in the winters when I was a kid

I will probably sleep most of the day Saturday after the radio show. The weather is not coopereating so I really doubt that the regional will be held. Being snowed out in South Georgia is pretty infrequent but it does happen once every 10-15 years. The track at Chehaw was in terrible shape last week so we weren’t able to have our open house race, this week it looks like McDonough may have no choice but to shut down too.

With any luck I will get to work at the shop Sunday, though we won’t be open. I have several bikes I am working on to recondition to a point they can be sold. I want them to be in real good shape when they leave the shop. I have a Trek Mountain Bike and a Jamis Mountain Bike, as well as a Giant 20″ that we had set up for BMX and will be put back to be a road bike for a child, I still have the fenders and all the stuff for it so that should be and easy one. I also have a real nice Diamondback Pro that is a real good BMX Bike, good and solid. Just put a brand new chain on that one and have to replace the rear wheel, hub and freewheel. So you see I have my work cut out for me and actually am looking forward to it.

My 2 grandsons are each riding SE Ripper X bikes and are loving them. I personally am building me a Dingo 24″ Cruiser, which I will ride for BMX and I ride a Giant OCR 2 road bike. My Mountain Bikes is a Specialized Expedition. The Expedition is pretty old but still solid, the Giant OCR 2 is about a 2006 Model and I have put close to 10,000 miles on her after buying it used with about 800 miles on it according  Jim at Cycle World in Albany Georgia.

One thing that cycling does is it brings together a lot of absolutely wonderful people. I met Brian McCandless a few years back when he was riding his bike for Cystic Fibrosis he and his entourage rode from Pittsburgh PA to Tallhassee FL and back and raised about 20,000.00 if I remember correctly. I was able to ride with his group through Moultrie but had to work that afternoon so could not ride into Florida with them.

I met Brian Horton at the Biking Bleckley Ride in Cochran Georgia, Brian does the rides for the Children’s Miracle Network and another charity ride out of Douglas.

At the Nut Roll in September of last year I met John Payne a wounded warrior that was injured when his convoy was ambushed in Somalia. He was on the ride for recovery and to try to get his life back together.

Keep watching the blog for more details on the Southwest Georgia Cyclefest at www.southwestgeorgiacyclefest.com

I am not sure whether cycling brings out the best in people or it is that great people are drawn to cycling. Einstein was a cyclist, the Wright Brothers ran a bicycle shop, Fletcher was a cyclist doing centuries long before there were carbon or even aluminum frames ( about 1900) .

Thats all for now, will post again after the Radio Show check it out Saturday at 10:00 AM. Tommy Knight is supposed to call in to let us know about the track and the regional at Sandy Ridge in Mcdonough but the weather is not looking good and unless they have the track covered it will be in pretty bad shape.

Have a great day, join us for the show, call in and talk about anything related to cycling.

Jerry The Bicycle Nut Goodwin

After fussing with the 1and1 blog I have been using and finding out that it would not allow me to add plugins so I was pretty much stuck with what they allow, which to be honest ain’t much I decided to actually set up a wordpress blog.

This blog will be about anything that has to do with cycling. I also will still have the Internet Radio show at www.blogtalkradio.com/the-bicycle-nut and will also still be writing articles at ezinearticles.com eventually I will get the widgets on here for those, it may take a couple days to get everything set back up and the  start getting the plugins added that I plan to add.

Also don’t forget that we are in the process of setting up a bicycle shop inside Books & More on the square in Moultrie. We will start out doing all repair work and selling some reconditioned bicycles and add new bikes as the funds allow and we see a market.  It looks like we will have some real nice space for the shop. The repair part is set up now, but the showroom will be pretty nice also.

I have a show Saturday the 13th at 10:00 AM call in and talk with yours truly 347-324-3835

Have a great day
